Artwork
This work, coinciding with the Tracey Emin’s solo exhibition in the summer of 2017, depicts the death of the artist’s mother and is representative of the personal connection Emin has with all of her work. Painting in particular has become an increasingly central and intense part of Emin’s practice. She often re-visits canvases over the course of months or years, creating rich layers which evoke the passage of time and memory.
