Trina McKillen begins the “Drawing The Line” series just after her work “Confess”, exhibited at Château La Coste in 2019. After this dark subject dealing with the sexual abuse of children in the Catholic Church, Trina wanted to change the register to create a series free of meaning. Using simple lines repeated on paper, she mixes and brightens her color palette. This series of watercolors also allows Trina to escape the confinement of Covid-19.
“These lines of color brought me comfort. I drew the line between safety and danger, the familiar and the unknown, health and illness. Having to stay in one place gave weight to memories of other places and people, and I found myself reflecting on my life in a new way.”
