Sophie Calle is a French artist, photographer, writer and director. Her work as an artist consists of turning her life, and in particular the most intimate moments, into a work of art. To do this, she uses all possible media: books, photos, videos, films, performances, etc. Since the end of the 1970s, she has exhibited all over the world and has developed a style that is immediately recognisable for its narrative elements and its frequent combination of texts and images that blur the boundaries between reality and fiction, between the public and the intimate, between art and life.

Sophie Calle est une artiste plasticienne, photographe, femme de lettres et réalisatrice française. Son travail d'artiste consiste à faire de sa vie, et notamment des moments les plus intimes, une oeuvre. Pour ce faire, elle utilise tous les supports possibles: livres, photos, vidéos, films, performances, etc. Depuis la fin des années 1970, elle a exposé partout dans le monde et a développé un style immédiatement reconnaissable pour ses éléments narratifs et sa combinaison fréquente de textes et d'images qui brouillent les frontières entre réalité et fiction, entre le public et l'intime, entre art et vie. Sophie Calle entretient un lien particulier avec le Château La Coste présentant une grande exposition en 2018 qui reprend trois de ses célèbres séries, ‘Que faites-vous de vos morts’, 'Les Tombes' et 'Douleur Exquise’, et une oeuvre permanente "Dead End" sur le parcours Art et Architecture.
