This edition is based on a painting created in 2025 during a residency at Villa Mathilde (Pyrénées-Atlantiques). During this residency, Romain Bagouet met an architect who showed him around his house. Among the many spaces visited, the artist focused on one in particular. He first photographed it, then reworked it to create a more abstract and radical version, while remaining true to the architect's original intention.
Bagouet pays particular attention to the direction of light, which he uses to fragment space, accentuate tensions, and create a sense of strangeness. Here, he incorporates the figure of Arnaud Adami, an artist and friend with whom he exhibits, notably at Château La Coste in the exhibition Ma part d'eux. Partially concealed within the setting, this presence introduces a subtle dialogue between radical abstraction and figuration. The figure is positioned so as neither to dominate the space nor to disappear within it, creating a delicate balance between human presence and architecture, at the heart of the tension that structures the image.
For this edition, Romain Bagouet intervened with acrylic paint, highlighting certain lines and areas of light, differently on each print. This intervention gives each print a unique character.

Romain Bagouet, né en 1997 à Limoges. Il vit et travaille à Paris. Diplômé de l’École nationale supérieure d’art de Bourges, il obtient son DNSEP en 2021. Depuis 2022, le travail de Bagouet a été présenté dans le cadre de plusieurs expositions en collaboration avec différentes galeries, en Europe et en Asie. Il participe régulièrement à des foires d’art et a participé à plusieurs résidences artistiques entre 2023 et 2025.
