Born in Saint-Cloud in 1989, Aristide Barraud began his professional life by playing Rugby.
In one recent video made by Barraud in 2020 and titled “Plaisir “ (Pleasure) the first words set the tone: “My name is Aristide and I won't pretend to be mysterious, I don't know much about art” The fact remains that the artist maintains a very singular and relevant relationship to art, one that is open to the world, as a tool for escape and connection with the elsewhere and the unknown, his varied works exploring the notion of narrative.
Writing is the pillar of his artistic practice. Traces of poetry, his touching words invite the reader to pause, designed to draw our attention to the passing of time and the beauty of fleeting pleasures.
Aristide Barraud also plays with the role of memory, when a work of art acts as a witness to the past. It is in this way that his interest in digital photography takes on its real importance.

“ Peace is hard to find. There is one, long-lasting, for which we search our whole lives and which depends on us. There is another which brings surprises, unexpected days, the colours of the leaves and the beauty of the seasons. Château La Coste is a peaceful place, fleeting for the visitors but which has stayed with me since. I was at peace, and I felt it in my heart. I hold on to it carefully, for fearful times, calm and buried like water in a well. ”
