7.232 km is the distance. From there I can only see the ocean: monotonous in all its blue.

Brazilian artist Paulo Accioly Lins de Barros studied at the Federal University of Alagoas and has shown an interest in photography since 2009. After meeting JR, he left his life in brazil to join the École Kourtrajmé.
Through his unusual choice of a twin lense Yashica-Mat camera, Paulo Accioly allows the viewer to become lost in uncertainty, questioning whether he as the subject is posing, or has been simply captured unawares.
Beyond the question of fiction versus reality, his work suggests a desire to draw from the techniques of gelatin silver photography, a play of light and contrast between black and white, texture and grain, in an out of focus.
