American artist Amanda Baldwin works with traditional modes of representation, such as landscape painting and still life. She separates and considers each element of her composition individually. Amanda Baldwin approaches objects, vases, mountains and fruit with a shifting palette with the intention of transforming them into a kind of abstract copy of themselves. By blurring the boundaries of representation and abstraction, she breaks down the familiar and presents playful worlds where uncertainty metamorphoses into concrete forms. The organic and the inorganic form strangely similar rhythms and patterns. She imbues the banal with new identities.
